The Sure-Lock Temporary Container for Ashes is made of a black plastic polymer. The container is sturdy but lightweight.

The Sure-Lock Temporary Container for Ashes can be x-rayed and thus is an option for transport on an airplane. In this case, the family member could carry on the preferred cremation urn (empty and open) and the temporary container (with ashes) to the end location or ship the preferred cremation urn to the end location and bring the temporary container on a plane to it. Many families use a temporary container and simply keep it at home until family can get together to select the desired cremation urn.

The lid of the container is hinged on one side and the Sure-Lock closure assures the contents will remain secure inside. With a capacity of 205 cubic inches, the container is considered adult size.
