When you purchase products from Stardust Memorials, LLC, we collect information including your name, email address, physical mailing address, phone number, and other relevant data needed to complete the transaction. If you purchase with a credit card, our merchant account provider collects the card number, card type, expiration date, and related security data. Stardust Memorials, LLC does not, however, collect, retain, or have access to that credit card information directly, though verification that payment has been successfully made is communicated to us.

If you register to receive information from Stardust Memorials in the form of our mailing list subscription, we collect your email address and name.

We collect information about the products you purchase, along with information regarding personalization requests.

If you wish to have us ship your order to an address other than the one associated with your credit card, then we collect that information as well.

When we process your order, we verify the shipping address against an address verification service that may correct the address to a more accurate version to make delivery of your package more likely.

We work in partnership with ShopperApproved and with Google Trusted Stores. Those companies collect information regarding the products purchased, and also reactions and attitudes about the shopping experience along with reactions regarding the perceived quality of the products that are purchased.

Cookies

Stardust Memorials, LLC uses “cookies” to collect information about your browsing and purchasing activity. Cookies are used both to identify repeat visitors to our site, but also to report information about browsing history and user intent. It is an integral aspect of the purchasing technology, as well, and it is not possible to purchase online from Stardust Memorials with your cookies disabled.

Stardust Memorials, LLC also uses Google Analytics and Moz to provide data about visitor website use.

How is the data collected then used?

We use the personal information that you provide to use to complete your purchase, to contact you regarding your order status, to respond to your request for additional information or assistance, to notify you in the event that someone attempts a fraudulent purchase using your personal information, to send you email communications, and to verify or correct information regarding your personalization request.

The information is also used to provide other shoppers with insight regarding the shopping experience and product quality that they might be able to expect, should they decide to purchase an item, as well.

What information is shared with others?

Stardust Memorials, LLC is careful to not share your personal information unless it is necessary to complete your transaction. To that end, personal information is shared with our package processing firm, our credit card processing firm, and our email marketing firm when you request to be added to our email list. It is necessary to share your address, for example, in order to have the package processed and mailed.

Some information is shared with ShopperApproved, Google Adwords, Bing Adwords, and other marketing platforms that Stardust Memorials, LLC uses. This does not include personally-identifiable information.

We would disclose personal information under a court order or subpoena, or in order to comply with a similar legal requirement. We would also disclose information necessary in order to evaluate cases of apparent fraud, credit, or debt collection.

PayPal and International Checkout

Stardust Memorials, LLC partners with PayPal and with International Checkout to provide purchasing options that go beyond what we offer to customers through our purchasing platform. For customers who choose to purchase through PayPal, no credit card or financial account information is transmitted to Stardust Memorials beyond notification that payment has been made and received.

In the case of International Checkout, again, no financial information is shared with Stardust Memorials. When a purchase is made through International Checkout, the purchase is completed on their website. International Checkout then, in turn, purchases the items from us and ships them from their USA-based fulfillment facilities after receiving them from us. As a result, International Checkout is the vendor of record for those purchases made through their service.

How is the information that we collect safeguarded?

Our secure servers protect your information using advanced encryption techniques and firewall technology. Transactions on our site are protected using domain control validation and strong 256-bit encryption with a 2048-bit root. Our GeoTrust QuickSSL Premium certificate is evidence of our site's security validation.

We require that any company with whom we have a contractual relationship to provide services as part of our order processing function to be similarly protected using the best available technology.

Our privacy policy was updated to include specific reference to information shared with ShopperApproved and with other specific marketing platforms, and to clarify specifically what information that is shared with our merchant processor is also available and not available to Stardust Memorials, LLC directly.
