Scattering Urns

Scattering urns are cremation urns made specifically for dispersing ashes on land or over a body of water such as a sea, ocean, lake or river. Many scattering urns are lidded containers -- often in a tube or cylinder shape -- made of paper. The scattering urn holds the ashes secure while traveling to the location of the scattering ceremony. When the memorial service reaches the moment of dispersal, the lid is removed and the ashes can be shaken out.
